چکیده
Abstract Background Sex-specific survival following percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) varies among studies. This might be clarified using relative survival, which adjusts observed in relation to that seen sex- and age-matched general population. We investigated sex-specific after PCI. Methods A total of 48,783 patients were enrolled the year 2011 Korean nationwide PCI cohort. Primary outcome was all-cause death. Observed at 5 years conditional on surviving 0 days, 30 1 year, 2 assessed. differences cardiovascular risk factors adjusted via age-group stratified propensity score matching. Results In unadjusted analyses, 15,710 female had a higher frequency compared with 33,073 male patients. Both (hazard ratio [HR]=1.28, 95% confidence interval [CI]=1.22–1.34) (HR=1.21, CI: 1.16–1.27) worse (p<0.001, all). analyses score-matched 14,454 pairs, showed (HR=0.78, 0.74–0.82) but lower (HR=1.19, 1.13–1.26) Neither nor differed between age≤50s male, they age≥60s than male. These findings consistent further years. Conclusions The 5-year aged≥60 by clinical mandates need for excessive reduction older undergoing Funding Acknowledgement Type funding sources: None.

Patient with coronary artery disease (CAD) undergoing major noncardiac surgery (NCS) are at increased risk of serious perioperative cardiac complications. At the same time, safety of percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) before noncardiac surgery has been questioned. This paper reviews the available literature regarding the safety of PCI before NCS. At the same time, cardiac evaluation befor...

متن کاملSex Differences in Outcomes Following Percutaneous Coronary Intervention According to Age.
BACKGROUND Women <50 years of age with coronary artery disease may represent a group at higher risk for recurrent ischemic events after percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI); however, no long-term, multicenter outcomes assessment exists in this population. METHODS AND RESULTS Using the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute Dynamic Registry, we evaluated the association of sex and age o...
متن کاملDynamic changes in purine catabolism in patients with acute coronary syndrome that underwent percutaneous coronary intervention
Background: Cardiovascular diseases are global problems. They are causes of death in about 43% of people worldwide and may become the most widespread reason of death by 2020. The prognosis is directly dependent to immediate diagnosis and on time treatment. Introduction of new biochemical markers as the early diagnosis of complications after coronary revascularization is very important in this p...
متن کاملImpact of Relative Conditional Survival Estimates on Patient Prognosis After Percutaneous Coronary Intervention.
BACKGROUND Some aspects of prognosis are not reflected by cumulative survival estimates. These aspects include information on the time already survived by the patient and the patient's survival compared with the general population. Conditional survival (ie, conditional on having survived a certain period of time already) and relative conditional survival (ie, compared with the general populatio...
